Discord Channel Documents

Discord channel

Importing Discord channels are a nice way to keep Wallu's knowledge up-to-date and include information that may not be documented in your other documentation. The downside is that simply importing all messages will also import any incorrect, outdated, or even "trolls".

Discord channel import schedule depends on your plan. Currently, free plans import every 7 days, while paid plans import every 24 hours.

Adding a Discord channel as a document

  1. Go to the Documents page in the admin panel
  2. Click "Add new document" and select "Add a Discord channel as a document"
  3. Select the channel or category to index
  4. (Optional) you can select "Import last X days of messages".
    • This is useful if you only want to import the last few days of messages to prevent importing outdated information.
  5. (Optional) You can add user IDs to only import messages from specific users (e.g., your staff and experienced users)
    • Additionally, you can select to also import the messages the user answered to. I.e., "question answer" message pairs.
    • This way you avoid importing incorrect answers from other users or trolls. However, you may miss some good answers from other users.
  6. (Optional) You can also configure which channels the document should be used in.
  7. (Optional) You can use the "Description" field to add links to find more information. If the bot often misunderstands this document, you can clarify it here. Whenever the document is used, the bot will always receive the description.
  8. Click "Save"
  9. It may take a few minutes for the bot to import the channel and process its content. After that, you can view the document it has imported.
