Troubleshooting Documents

How to avoid the most common issues with documents?

  1. Outdated Information: If the document contains information that changes frequently, it's better to link to a website or reformat the document to link to the proper site. For example, instead of listing all your current discounts, add "You can find our current discounts here: https://example.com/discounts".
  2. Document Structure: AI based search and answers work best when there are complete sentences or paragraphs for the question. One paragraph should cover one topic and answer questions related to that topic. The bot may not be able to "connect things" or "reason" if the information is scattered around the document.
  3. Website imports are not always perfect: If you import a website, it's possible some context that a human would see is lost. More complex elements are not always accessible. Also, the bot can't process all content like import video tutorials (use FAQs to link to them or transcriptions). It may not even be able to link to videos or images unless they are described and linked in the text (e.g., "See the tutorial on how to install MyExampleApp here: https://youtube.com/example").
