Web Search

When enabled, Wallu can search the web to answer questions your own knowledge base doesn't cover. It's useful for fast-moving topics or large public docs you haven't imported.

Set it up

  1. Open the Web Search page.
  2. Toggle Enable Web Search.
  3. Set a main search term - usually your brand or domain (e.g. wallubot or wallubot.com). It's added to every query to keep results about you.
  4. (Optional) Add keywords that must appear in results, and negative keywords that exclude bad matches.
  5. Choose which channels can use web search, then save.

Keep results on-topic

The main search term and keyword filters are what stop Wallu from pulling in unrelated pages. If your brand name is generic, add a more specific phrase (e.g. your full product name) so results stay about you and not a namesake.

Credit usage

Each web search uses extra credits, even when it doesn't find anything. Enable it only in channels where searching the web is worth it, and lean on imported documents for content you already control.
